Who?
At PMHS, me and my students! Around the country, lots of teachers and students!
What?
Sitting at bistro tables couches, bean bag chairs, standing, etc.
When?
Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year
Where?
My classroom!
Why?
Flexible seating allows students to learn in a way that makes them succeed.
How?
Through a set of classroom rules and a "roll out" period, students will discover which areas of the classroom help them learn the best. Do they learn best at a table? On a couch? On the floor? Do they learn best in groups? With a friend? By themselves?
Students will take time to learn where they work best in the classroom and then are allowed to sit there (behavior-depending)! If the seat they want is taken, we'll rock-paper-scissors our way into figuring out who gets the seat that day.
If behavior or self-control becomes a problem, Mrs. George reserves the right to move any student at any time.
*If you have furniture you would like to donate to my classroom, please let me know! I'm currently on the hunt for some bar stools for my high tables!
